Heather and Oliver are one of those couples you just want to be around. Their laid back personalities, eagerness to laugh and warm, caring hearts are magnetic and exudes into their lives.
When Oliver contacted me about shooting their engagement that he had been planning, I was so excited. Even though I hadn't known this couple long, a double date over coffee with them and my husband Gabe instantly felt like we were meeting up with old friends.
It was awesome to be able to photograph the proposal in
Christ Communities' Brookside campus, where Heather and Oliver have found their church home and will be getting married in March. Oliver had set out notes on tables throughout the church and read them to Heather. He then had the final note in the sanctuary where he got down on one knee. What a cool moment!
I had so many favorites that this post is a little longer than normal... there were just too many cute pictures to choose from! It's so obvious that Heather and Oliver adore each other, and I'm not sure how my camera handled so much heat in one session!
On the day of the engagement session, we met up at the
Nelson Atkins Museum of Art to begin the engagement session. It was a gorgeous November day and it seemed that the last leaves of autumn were hanging on just for our shoot.
Loved that Heather and Oliver love to laugh with each other....
... and yet can bring the heat at the same time!
Loved the sheer joy in this one!
Okay, had to take a picture of Heather's earrings. I loved them.. and, as a girl, had to take a moment out to highlight them!
Heather and Oliver wanted some indoor shots and stumbled upon
The Farmhouse in the Rivermarket who were more than willing to let us shoot in their space!
Oh Heather... so gorgeous!
Heather and Oliver said they wanted to do some dancing shots, and who can say no to such a cute couple who aren't afraid to show off their dance moves? I know they said they practice for fun, but I'm thinking secretly they're competitive ballroom dancers.. they were great!
From The Farmhouse, we strolled down to the bridge by the river for a few shots just before sunset.
Go ON you two! Seriously...
I had such a great time shooting and editing this session. And I feel so honored to be shooting their wedding in March! Congrats again to an amazing couple!
