Behind the Scenes- Video Project for My Website!

Well, it's been a year of taking chances and trying new things and I'm excited to show you a project that's been in the works!

I met up with Jessica and Matt who were willing to be in a video for my website!  It was great shooting with this totally laid back and light hearted couple because I'll be shooting their wedding this fall at Studio 2131 in the Crossroads!  I'm really looking forward to celebrating with them!

Kansas City Videographer, Nick Vaughn (who works at 41 Action News with their Kansas City Live show), made the entire process really easy and fun, and I'm excited to show you his work...

But first, a few photos from the shoot!

Thanks again Jessica, Matt and Nick for helping make this project become a reality!

You can check out the video on my website, AllieCoylePhotography.com!

As always, thanks for your support!

An Urban and Fun Session with Mara!

It was a beautiful, crisp morning when Mara and I met up in the Crossroads of Downtown Kansas City for her session.  Even though there was a little chill in the air, Mara's bubbly personality warmed up the session instantly and we wandered throughout the Crossroads stopping at rustic doors and backdrops that lent to the urban vibe we were going for.

Mara's kicking off her business as a Nutrition Coach and I was so glad to help her create photos for her website that show off her vibrant spirit!  Here's a sneak peek!

Thanks Mara for a great session!!

The Johnson Family- Five Sisters, Two Parents and One Fun Family Session in the Crossroads!

I had such a great time last weekend doing a family session with the Johnson's in the Crossroads.  Jamie, Tamra and there five girls know how to have fun and our session was filled with a lot of candids of the girls being as cute as can be in front of the camera!  Jamie and Tamra have done a great job building an environment of a loving family and you can tell these sisters adore each other.  Here's a sneak peek of their session!

Kind of love how the word "studio" got cut off here... :)

This is one of my favorite candid shots of these five sisters!

Loved all the boots!

These young ladies are full of personality!

Tamra, honestly... five girls later and you look this good?!  (And homeschooling them all?)  You're Super Woman.

Yep, it was a fun shoot!

Crossroads Academy Ribbon Cutting Event

It's not everyday you get to witness history in the making, but when you do; it's a surreal feeling.  That's how I felt recently when I had the opportunity to capture a momentous day for Kansas City's newest Charter school, Crossroads Academy, at their Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

I'm a firm believer in digging into the community in which you live and, as my husband and I moved into the Crossroads this summer, I knew I wanted to find a way to give back to this vibrant area.  Since photography is such a passion of mine, I thought that volunteering with photography at a school that is just getting off the ground and, literally being built with generous funding and volunteer time from those within the community, would be the perfect fit!

I had shot one of their open houses this summer, so it was great to be at the ribbon cutting event and see familiar faces of students and parents who have been anxiously awaiting the schools opening in September.  It was so fun to capture the students anticipation as the ribbon was being cut and they were allowed to see their remodeled school for the first time.  The picnic that followed with music, dancing and games for the kids helped capture the celebration of this historic event!

The Crossroads Academy has an amazing future with the best teachers and leadership in the area!  With the Kansas City schools being in such disarray currently; Crossroads Academy is truly a beacon of hope and role model for what downtown Kansas City schools could become.  It will be awesome to see how this school flourishes over the years!

I'm really looking forward to going back on September 4th to capture the first day of school!   I'll be posting those pictures soon, so be sure to check back!
